Receive Text UpdatesA homemade Rasta Pasta, which initially started my culinary career. As a popular dish at home, it was made pretty regularly as a simple pasta dinner. Although simple, when meticulously preparing each step, it brings me a sense of home. The explosion of flavor takes me to where my mom is from, the Cayman Islands, and I like to think this dish is what the islands taste like.
Who is your culinary inspiration? In my family, everyone has their hands in food. Whether it's cooking or baking, I come from a line of chefs. Specifically, I come from a father who went from small-time cook to executive chef in only a couple of months and a mother who worked as a line chef using her skills to serve high-priority clients. With these traditions, I see not only where my skills could take me, but where my passion and drive can take me as well.
What would you do with the $25,000?Firstly, I'd give some to thank and show appreciation to my mom for being so proactive in my culinary journey. I'd use the rest to map out my blueprint for Uni-Rolls. I want to expand my creativity into something special for everyone. I want to provide a space where diversity can meet, and customers can find a piece of home in my restaurant.
