Receive Text UpdatesEVERYONE here in Southern Louisiana has a signature gumbo, so it's kind of a cliche. I'm going to go with my marinated and seared lamb chops with spaghetti gorgonzola.
Who is your culinary inspiration?By FAR my mother and my grandmother's. Mom is a retired dietitian and kitchen supervisor so she taught me how to be creative on the fly. I have such good memories from my grandmothers' cooking on both sides that 20 years ago I endeavored to learn how to recreate most of them. I even figured out how to make courtbouillon! Finally, I have a lot of friends that are genuinely in the industry, so I'm constantly getting ideas from them to keep me on my toes!
What would you do with the $25,000?Many of my culinary endeavors are much larger than the space I have in my kitchen, so I would likely use at least part of it to build some alternative cooking space on the back patio of our modest home. I love the idea of cooking for friends and family at gatherings. I'd also take my wife on a few road trip culinary adventures. There are still a ton of places right here in Southern Louisiana that I've yet to truly explore when it comes to culinary delights. Why not do it as a Favorite Chef? 😎
