Receive Text UpdatesMy signature dish is a savory rosemary pate sucree tart shell filled with a raspberry orange curd and then topped off with an Italian meringue and bruleed citrus. This past year I was the captain of my Prostart culinary team at my high school where I created a team of talented young chefs, in which we worked together with chef mentors and each other to create a 3 course fine dining meal without electricity or running water. I was in charge of the dessert which is where I created the dish above.
Who is your culinary inspiration? My grandma, she was the person that taught me the basics. She showed me how food can bring people together. When she shared with me that when she was younger she wanted to open her own bakery but couldn’t afford it, I realized we had the same dream except I wanted to open mine in honor of her.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to pay for my tuition at the culinary institute of America. After my scholarships and grants I still with have around $27,000 to pay for school. My family and I can’t afford to pay for my schooling so I will have to take out loans. This money would help me to get the proper education to pursue my dreams.
