Connect What is your signature dish?

At this moment in time, I believe my signature dish is the Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao. Every culture has a deep connection to yummy envelopes packed with flavor shared around the table. Inspired by a dish I grew up eating at home, I elevate it with foie gras, balancing luxury and nostalgia in a way that feels both familiar and communal among friends and family. This dish is simple in its presentation but deeply rooted in technique.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

My culinary inspiration comes from everywhere, as long as my antennas are up. I cook for my mother and father, who raised us around the kitchen table where dinner was an integral part of life. Professionally, my mentors Brad Kilgore and Alan Vezaroli shaped my philosophy that with technique and a deep understanding of product, a dish can go from good to great. My fiancée, Camila Olarte, constantly inspires me to become a better version of myself every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With a $25,000 prize, I would divide it among three meaningful investments in my future. Part would go toward paying off student debt from Kendall College, where I earned my degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. Another third would help purchase a home with a beautiful kitchen where Camila and I can gather friends and family around our table. The final portion would be saved to invest in a restaurant where we can share our talent and philosophy with the world.
