Receive Text UpdatesI don’t have one singular signature dish. I make great food and love to share it with others. From my roasted red pepper soup to slow roasted shredded Italian roast beef, my Meyer Lemon Vanill Bean jelly, and my personal cc cookie recipe. If it brings joy to others that joy comes right back to me. I make things for people to remind them of their families, of home.
Who is your culinary inspiration?All chefs from all walks of life and time periods. I am always watching cooking/baking shows, whether it’s a competition show or Julia Child, I can always take something from everything I watch. My favorite afternoon show was the Chew, which started airing when I really started to look at doing this professionally, and it’s grown from there.
What would you do with the $25,000?I was a special education teacher for 20 years and left my teaching position at the end of September. I opened my shop in an incubator space in downtown Norfolk, VA. I have my own storefront (bakery/cafe/market) but as this is an incubator program, eventually I will be moving out into another space. I would use the money to put toward that and my goal of having individuals with disabilities to be able to work in my location (adaptive equipment, training, etc.)
