The dish reflects comfort, resilience, and nostalgia while elevating familiar flavors into a composed restaurant offering rooted in Southern flair.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My culinary inspiration comes from Anthony Bourdain’s view of food as a lens for life, honest, human, and rooted in story. From my father, whose love of cooking showed me food as care and connection. And from baking with my grandmother as a child, where I learned patience, comfort, and memory through repetition. Together they shaped how I cook today, with intention, emotion, and respect for the stories behind every dish.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to take a focused step forward in my career by refining my concept and building momentum around my signature food. It would go toward equipment, pop ups, and small scale catering opportunities that allow me to test, grow, and share my cooking with more people. The goal would be to turn intention into execution while staying rooted in story, Southern hospitality, and real community connection.
