Who is your culinary inspiration?That would have to be Lowell Hawthorne, the founder of Golden Krust. The cocktail patty is now an iconic representation of the island, as a consumer packaged goods product. Lowell took his family business and grew it into a national brand that will always be synonymous with New York Caribbean culture. As a chef, this made me want to innovate within the CPG space and show the world our other culinary offerings and make my own mark in the freezer aisle. Lowell Hawthorne proved that it can be done.
What would you do with the $25,000?$25,000 would help me move full steam ahead on my frozen food business. I’d invest $10,000 in a marketing campaign that utilises $2,000 for digital advertising, $8,000 in YouTube creator and influencer collaboration and DJ marketing on a grassroots level. With the remainder $17,000, I would allocate $10,000 towards my operating costs which include retail/wholesale/sample packaging, inventory and commercial kitchen rental. The rest would be used for promo merch and working capital.
