It's from 'the old country" and was shared from the Italian women over 100 years ago to the others in the small Canadian town of Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia. I pride myself on duplicating it exactly & sharing it with my siblings. The taste brings back beautiful memories of our mother. But my own legacy is for bread-baking. I love surprising people with beautiful & unique bread creations.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My father cooked everything with a sense of joy & loved perfecting dishes and sharing his recipes. He cut out recipes from magazines & kept them in his pocket in case he was inspired to pick up the ingredients. He made a stew so delicious that the milkman would grab a quick bowl on his rounds! And Dad would call his golfing buddies to pop in for a hearty bowl before tee-off time! There's nothing he loved more than feeding others! I guess that's where I get it. He cooked with love & v
What would you do with the $25,000?First things first! I'd celebrate with a family feast of wagyu ribeye and fresh Atlantic Canadian lobster! Then I'd carefully plan a modern upgrade of my beloved old kitchen with lots of work space, plenty of storage space & beautiful overhead lighting. I'd invest in some modern equipment -- like a real stand mixer! And of course a top-brand combi oven! Then I'd fill my new pantry with new and exotic spices!
