Friends and family love for me to cut up fruits and veggies with a variety of dips. I also enjoy experimenting with vegetables from my garden, especially fried green tomatoes! My signature dish would have to be my chicken and dressing—a favorite year round.
Who is your culinary inspiration?The women that raised me are my culinary inspiration! I grew up in a traditional household with my parents, but my aunts, grandmothers, and church ladies all inspired me in the kitchen. With their shared recipes and kitchen tricks, I learned from the best. Feeding my kids and their friends throughout childhood was my favorite!
What would you do with the $25,000?I dream of cooking for others in a food truck and eventually owning a cute lunch spot. I currently serve my community as a special education teacher and dream of a welcoming space for adults with special needs to learn how to cook and serve others while building their independence and communication skills.
