Smoky-Chicken Beans & Greens. I first started creative cooking when I subscribed to Bon Appétit magazine. In one edition I found a wonderful Beans and Greens dish and created my version for my MIL. In fact that is the first time my MIL encouraged me to pretend I was on a cooking show...when I made this dish. There was alot of love and laughter that day!
Who is your culinary inspiration?My mom inspired me to love cooking for others. When I learned from mom we cooked for 12 people. Graduation parties at home for 300 people, no problem (I was 18 yrs. old). Carla Hall has shown me that dreams do come true! I started following Carla years ago as she competed on "Top Chef" cooking competitions! Way to rock it Carla! I even practiced having my own cooking shows with my mother-in-law as my audience (her idea!). Carla just has that bubbly personality! I emulated Carla! &h
What would you do with the $25,000?I will enroll in more cooking classes. I also want to cook for the fire fighters in my home City. When I talked with one of the fire fighters at the grocery store he was shopping for "spaghetti night!" I said, "I can do that!" Lastly, I want to publish a family recipes inspired cookbook.
