I transform an often-overlooked cut into something luxurious through patience, technique, and soulful flavor. Slowly braised in red wine, herbs, stock, and aromatics, the beef becomes fork-tender and deeply savory. Served over smoked gouda grits or creamy mash, this dish reflects my cooking style: soulful, refined, and made with love.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My culinary influences are rooted in Southern soul food, Cajun flavor, and classic technique. Growing up, I watched chefs like Julia Child, Martin Yan, Graham Kerr, and Justin Wilson instead of cartoons, shaping my love of cooking. Inspired by global flavors and soulful comfort food, I enjoy elevating humble ingredients into memorable dishes made with heart, technique, and intention.
What would you do with the $25,000?Winning $25,000 would help me turn a lifelong dream into reality by launching a food truck or small catering business centered around my style of “soul food elevated.” Cooking has always been my love language and how I care for others.
