Receive Text UpdatesEvery dish I create is nostalgic. Memories of my childhood meals incorporated with my culinary expertise. I grew up eating comfort Peruvian food. And in NYC I would work in many known Italian restaurants. My dishes include ceviche or tiraditos. Ají de gallina croquetas, short rib tortellinis with Peruvian verde sauce. A blend of my two heritages.
Who is your culinary inspiration?The 3 strong woman who raised me. My grandmother, my aunt, and my mother. I would come home from school to the house smelling like food. Salsa or huaynos playing in the background and them chatting and sharing stories or as we say chismosiando. This was my foundation of what being hospitable means to me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I currently started my own catering business called, munay. It translates to love but not romantically. More of love to yourself and what you do. MUNAY is hospitality that lands with meaning and lingers with devotion. It is not just a concept, it is genuine love you can actually taste and with every bite - a cultural experience. With this 25k I would continue the dream of opening a small brick and mortar.
