Who is your culinary inspiration?My mama. Her and my dad were organic gardeners, fishers, trappers and hunters. My dad, a decorated sharpshooter serving in Vietnam, could shoot into the tree tops and drop a squirrel to your feet and my mom could make it into absolute satisfaction. Growing up, we ate what we grew, caught and cooked, often out of necessity. My mama turned it into a loving goodness that kept us endlessly coming back to her table. Nothing better than her salsa, hush puppies and fried crappie!
What would you do with the $25,000?Feeding others is my joyful job and winning allows me to create a more efficient kitchen with more organization and better appliances, which in turn allows me to continue nourishing souls and bringing families to the table to eat whole foods made by creative hands.
