Receive Text UpdatesMy signature dish is a tribute forged from memory. As a stubborn kid in Spain, craving familiar spaghetti, I was handed their version—pasta with ham that hit me like lightning. My mom recreated it at home, perfecting it with fierce love. After she passed, I rebuilt it from taste alone, transforming it into my own Spanish pasta. Now every bite feels like reclaiming a piece of her.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My inspiration is my mother, the greatest chef I’ve ever known. With her Korean roots and flawless palate, she could taste anything once and recreate it like magic. I grew up at her side, watching her turn food into comfort, healing, and joy. That’s where my passion was born—inside her kitchen, inside her love—learning that cooking feeds the soul as much as the body.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d use the $25,000 to finally breathe again by paying the bills that weigh on me. Then I’d take my family to Korea to stand where my mother was born. I’ve never seen her homeland, yet her food shaped my entire life. I cook Korean dishes, but I want to taste everything, learn everything, and feel her presence there. Heritage matters—through food, it heals, connects, and brings her back to me.
