Receive Text UpdatesEveryone loves my Greek Chicken that I serve with tzatziki and hummus . I guess that would be my signature dish. But as a south Louisiana girl, I also make a mean roast, rice, and gravy or gumbo. Growing up in Louisiana and living in Texas for 28 years, I cook a lot of Tex Mex and Cajun food. Spices and fresh herbs from my garden are a big part of my day to day cooking.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Growing up, I remember watching Justin Wilson in the PBS channel. His food always looked delicious. My great aunt Martha was another. She had a restaurant in Kerrville, TX and served the most delicious food. She was famous for her orange rolls and blueberry muffins. My mom was not a very good cook so these two people inspired me to learn to cook. I read recipes and the backs of spice jars to see what I could use to make delicious food myself. Everyone loves my food and wants my recipes.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use it to help remodel my kitchen. I bought the home I grew up in and the kitchen hasn't been redone since the home was built in 1972. Some of the appliances have been updated. The oven and stove are over 20 years old. I would love to blow out a wall and expand the kitchen as it is very small. Everyone always congregates in the kitchen on Sundays and I need more room. I'd love an Island for people to sit at while I finish preparing dinner.
