My signature Eggs Benedict is a bold brunch twist that reflects my love for comforting, elevated flavors. I serve buttery toasted brioche topped with crispy maple-black pepper fried chicken, a soft poached egg, smoked gouda hollandaise, and a quick-pickled jalapeño slaw for brightness and crunch.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Chef Bog Maciejewski had one of the biggest impacts on my journey as a young chef. As a Polish chef and a graduate of George Brown College, he brought real industry experience, discipline, and passion into our high school kitchen every single day. Before taking his class, I enjoyed cooking, but I never truly understood how much the culinary world could feel like home to me. I was struggling with my mental health and the kitchen gave me an outlet to rebuild my self-confidence.
What would you do with the $25,000?Winning the $25,000 would help me support my mom after the concussion she suffered two Valentine’s Days ago, which limited her ability to work and caused financial stress. I would also invest in building a catering company focused on colourful, balanced, experience-driven food, including Montessori-inspired culinary experiences for children alongside upscale catering for events and private gatherings.
