Receive Text UpdatesMamaw’s battery dough, hands down. It’s the recipe that started it all for me. Simple ingredients, made by feel more than measuring, and turned into everything from biscuits to pizza crust to fried bread when times called for it. It tastes like home, full bellies, and standing in a warm kitchen with somebody you love. That dough carried a whole lotta memories before it ever carried a million views.
Who is your culinary inspiration? My biggest inspiration has always been the folks who cooked with what they had and made it feel special anyway especially my Mamaw. I learned more standing in little country kitchens watching hands move than I ever could from fancy recipes. I also love Julia Child because she made cooking feel joyful and fearless. Somewhere between Appalachian comfort and a little world flair is where I found my own style.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won the $25,000, I’d finish building out our homestead. My dream has never been fancy it’s been simple. A warm home, a big garden, good food on the table, and the people I love close by. We’d put it toward making our little piece of land functional and comfortable so we can keep growing, cooking, creating, and living a slower life that feels full in all the right ways.
