My signature dish isn't a single recipe, but rather the flavors of my youth. It's a blend of the soulful American staples from my mother’s kitchen and the vibrant Afro- Latino and Caribbean roots of my father. With a decade in the industry, my signature is the marriage of these two worlds. The comfort foods I grew up with elevated through professional technique, creating dishes that celebrate a mixed ethnic identity with the heart of a home cook and the precision of a seasoned chef.

My inspiration is a lineage of powerful Black women who prove food is the ultimate love language. I am moved by the late Leah Chase’s Creole mastery, and the heart Chefs Carla Hall and Kardea Brown bring to the craft. But my foundation is my mother, my first teacher. She could stretch a dollar into the best meal I’ve ever had, teaching me that love and resilience are an essential ingredient. I cook to honor the warmth and creativity these women represent.

Winning this prize would be a transformative step toward long-term stability for my family. My priority is to clear existing debts building a solid financial foundation. From there, I plan to down payment on a family home. Finally, I want to invest in the future by starting a savings plan for my nephews, ensuring that my success leaves a lasting legacy for the next generation.
