Receive Text UpdatesI LOVE to cook many styles of food and have a signature dish for each style. But I prefer open flame cooking so I’ll go with my charcoal tri tip. I make a glaze of balsamic vinegar molasses and black pepper and coat a tri tip with it then lay it over a hot bed of coals turning and coating it every few mins until medium rare. Who is your culinary inspiration?I learned to cook from my grandpa who was a mess cook in the navy. The first thing he taught me to make was oyster stew. We used to watch Justin Wilson’s cooking show together and prepare the recipes we’d seen. After I moved out on my own I became fascinated with Anthony Bourdain. Bought his cook books and watched his show religiously. Same goes for Alton Brown. I studied every book and episode.
What would you do with the $25,000?I am a stay at home dad with 3 beautiful daughters and a wonderful supportive wife. A portion of it would be doled out for each girls college fund and I’d give the wife some much needed thank you for the love and support money. The rest I’d use to get a BBQ start up running.
