Connect What is your signature dish?

My signature dish is a traditional Puerto Rican soup with tender chicken legs, potatoes, vegetables, and rice a full meal in one bowl. I serve it with fresh lime and fried plantains tossed in garlic achiote oil and cilantro. Although I love creating artistic fine dining plates, I always return to the comfort foods I grew up with. This dish reminds me of my mother and grandmothers and represents the bold flavors, warmth, and tradition that inspired my passion for cooking.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

My culinary inspiration is my mother and grandmothers. As a child, I never wanted to cook, but after joining the military, I realized food had the power to bring people together. My grandmothers always knew that if they were cooking, the family would show up. As I got older, I understood it was never just about the meal it was about creating memories, sharing time together, and bringing comfort through food. My favorite part of cooking is seeing people gather and enjoy it with a smile.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Winning $25,000 would help me grow my private chef and catering business by allowing me to invest in essential equipment and a reliable vehicle with enough space for transportation. It would also help me create an organized workspace and storage area for my supplies. My goal is to eventually have a dedicated kitchen and business location so I can continue expanding my services and creating memorable dining experiences for my clients.
