My signature dish is chicken curry with shrimp, inspired by the rich flavors of Mauritian cuisine. It represents my culture, my journey as a chef, and the love for food that was passed down to me through my family. I love combining bold spices, fresh ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques to create dishes that bring people together and make them feel at home.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My biggest culinary inspirations are my mother and grandmother. They taught me that food is more than just cooking — it is love, care, and bringing people together. Watching them cook with passion and heart inspired me from a young age and shaped the chef and person I am today.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won the $25,000, I would invest it into growing Hashmi Cuisine by creating more high-quality content, developing my cookbook, and building a platform where people can learn about food and culture from around the world. I would also use it to support community food projects and continue sharing Mauritian cuisine with an international audience.
