Who is your culinary inspiration?On a celebrity level they would have to be: Julia Childs (my grandmother was her high school boarding school roommate) Jose Andres - unmatched dedication to being of service Anthony Bourdain - living the “travel is education” mantra and celebrating different cultures, as well as such an impressive use of language & writing. Most inspirational chef mentor is chef Alex Ong. I was his Sous chef at Betelnut in its heyday. He is now the Director of Culinary Excellence at UMass
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000 I would use some to re-invest into Ham & Cheese Deli, the community center, retro arcade and coffee/sandwich shop that I started 5 years ago, and set aside the rest to plan a culinary focused trip with my son. Either to SouthEast Asia or Germany
