Receive Text UpdatesChicken Curry. This goes back to childhood. Most people in my neighborhood were not eating the food my parents would cook. Specifically, curries. I grew up on curries; goat curry, chicken, etc... My mom probably makes the best but she inspires me how to replicate those flavors. This is a dish that I've made a many family meals at restaurants I've worked in; people always remember it.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Truly my parents to start off. They introduced me to so many flavors and cultures of food that none of the other kids were eating. We would have authentic Chinese one day; Afghan cuisine the next; or just traditional soul food the next. One other inspiration is Chef Kevin Tien, who I work for Moon Rabbit in DC. He inspires me because he showcases that you can have an intense focused restaurant with a positive environment. That means collaboration, feedback, and learning.
What would you do with the $25,000?My dream would be start my own business. But surprisingly it wouldn't be a restaurant. But also wouldn't be as a Private chef. Actually my plane is to create a festive dining service cooked for guests in there homes that is interactive and fun. So I would like to make dream come true.
