My son’s favorite dish is a creamy spicy penne pasta that I first cooked when he came home from camp and I had a bunch of random items. He loved it so now I make it with intention! I also make a lot of banana bread for my picky eater and I think my best meal is a perfectly roast chicken.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Definitely Julia Child would be first, I love that she didn’t start cooking until she was in her 40’s. She is my hero. After that it is Martha Stewart all the way, grew up on her shows, books and magazines. Today though I am definitely an Ina Garten girl, she is my icon brand and I probably reference her cookbooks the most. I love the aesthetic of the Barefoot Contessa deli.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would like to go to cooking school. I have a BA in International Business and 20+ year career in International Human Resources, but it’s never brought me joy like cooking, cookbooks and gardening. I never imagined a career in culinary arts but I think I would like to take that next step and attend a proper cooking school so that I can elevate my cooking beyond a home kitchen.
