Receive Text UpdatesMy signature dish is the Tamal Gobernador, a handmade shrimp and cheese tamal that represents my family, hustle, and culture. As a full-time truck driver and father, I spend my weekends creating flavors that bring people together. What started as a small family business became something our community lines up for every Saturday in Torrance.
Who is your culinary inspiration? My biggest culinary inspiration is my family and the hustle behind every meal. Growing up around homemade Mexican food taught me that food brings people together. As a full-time truck driver, full-time dad, and part-time tamalero, I’ve learned that hard work, consistency, and passion matter just as much as flavor. I’m inspired by traditional Mexican street food, but I also enjoy creating new twists that keep people excited and coming back every weekend.
What would you do with the $25,000?would invest the $25,000 into growing Tamales El Mandi from a weekend hustle into a full-time business. I’d upgrade equipment, increase production, improve branding, and expand into catering, pop-ups, and more community events. I’d also use part of it to create a better future for my family and work toward leaving trucking to focus fully on building a business that represents hard work, culture, and good food.
