Receive Text Updates“Bayou Beans at Sunset” It’s a black bean dish that I’ve created. Cooks in an hour, on top of the stove with a melody of wonderful spices in a mushroom sauce with sausage and or chicken . Then on a bed of basmati rice. I top it with sour cream or Greek Yogurt, French’s onions and shredded cheddar. Serve with a plethora of steamed healthy vegetables.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Carla! Barefoot Contessa, Galloping Gourmet, Julia Child…to name a few. I’ve collected cookbooks from amazing chefs since I’ve been 16. Every nationality of fantastic chefs as diversity is the spice of life! My memories are of learning from my friends moms from around the world.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’ve written a children’s book about our baby Green Cheek Conure named “Barnabus Thurston Turns One!” Such a fun sweet story that I need to bring to life. I would be thrilled to take that prize money and part of it would go to publishing the book . The rest would be funding me travelling to schools and hospitals, donating the books and reading in my voiceover vocals to children. Thank you♥️
