Who is your culinary inspiration?My culinary creativity definitely began with my mom’s on-a-budget vegetarian cooking. When Chopped came out, I laughed and said, “Hey, that’s the game we’ve been playing at my house!” I’m inspired by humans who can make magic—poof!—and alchemize whatever they have into life-giving, joy-giving, playful nourishment. I bow to the mothers, and the ultimate mother, Gaia, who give us so much beauty to play with.
