What is your signature dish?

My friends love the creative things that I do with collards, kale and swiss chard. I would say collards stuffed with brown rice, mushrooms, onions, ground turkey served in homemade tomato sauce.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

As life allows me to travel more frequently with my husband, I am inspired by Anthony Bourdain. I enjoy buying unusual spices, preparing different cuisines and sharing the dishes with my friends and family. It's like taking people who are intrepid about traveling on a journey to new places through smells and flavors.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My husband is a 3x Grammy nominated jazz pianist. With 25k I would plan a book signing tour for my self published cookbook "Summertime Jazz Kitchen: Stories and Flavors from the Garden" coordinating with upcoming jazz festival dates. I would provide food samplings and feature a dish on the menus of venues serving food.
