Connect What is your signature dish?

I have many dishes I prepare, but as a Southern girl , I’d say my signature dish is my fried catfish & grits with a twist. I make crispy Southern-style fried catfish fillets served over creamy smoked Gouda & Cheddar cheese grits, then top it with a savory shrimp étouffée to bring everything together. I usually pair the dish with collard greens or my cornbread casserole for the perfect Savory Southern comfort meal.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

My culinary inspiration comes from my family. Ever since I was about 6 years old, cooking has been something I’ve truly loved and felt passionate about. Growing up in a big family, food was always at the center of bringing everyone together. I watched my grandmother, mom, aunts, and uncle prepare meals for family gatherings, and I saw how food created laughter, smiles, music, conversations, and memories. Seeing the joy that a great meal could bring to people inspired me at a very young age

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would invest it into either purchasing a food truck or securing a location to begin building my own restaurant. Owning a restaurant has always been one of my biggest dreams because cooking is more than just food to me it’s a way to bring people together and create happiness. I would use the opportunity to grow my business, share my passion with more people, and continue creating meals that leave lasting memories and smiles on people’s faces.
