I would say my signature dish is chopped liver like your Bubbe made! This is an unusual dish that you have to get just right. It evokes so many memories of my childhood and later care taking of my mom. This dish made her so happy. When ever I bring it to a pot luck folks are reminded of their childhood, their mothers and grandmothers and tell me so. Lucky for me and my cholesterol I only get to make it twice a year.
Who is your culinary inspiration?Maneet Chauhan is one of my favorite chefs, and as a child we watched Julia Child on PBS. But my real culinary inspiration is the friends and family who will eat my food. I simply delight in sharing a delicious meal weather it is for a potluck, entertaining, or making something for a meal train for someone in need.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would donate some to the birth center where I work because non profit life is hard! I would renovate the kitchen in my 100 year old house. If any is left I would put it away to go to culinary school which I dream of going to at age 60 in 3 years ..
