Inspired by the coastal flavors of Sicily, the dish balances briny depth, citrus brightness, fresh herbs, and handmade craftsmanship to create an experience that feels both deeply rooted and emotionally expressive.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My culinary inspiration comes from my Granny’s kitchen, where food was love, comfort, and connection. I’m deeply inspired by Sicilian cuisine, handmade craftsmanship, and the way a meal can bring people together. Through my journey of rebuilding, leadership, and navigating autoimmune disease, cooking became more than a career — it became purpose. I strive to create intentional dining experiences that make people feel seen, cared for, and at home at my table.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to continue building La Forchetta by Chef Chanda through intimate Sicilian-inspired dining experiences, handmade pasta classes, and expanding my culinary brand. It would also help support my dream of creating a small restaurant space rooted in intentional hospitality, connection, and storytelling through food. This opportunity would allow me to keep turning passion, resilience, and purpose into something lasting.
