What is your signature dish?

I don’t really believe in a single signature dish because my cooking changes with the seasons. My kitchen starts in the garden, the farmer’s market, or whatever local ingredients are freshest that week. One day it’s almond orange French toast with blackberry sage syrup, the next it’s homemade angel hair pasta with tomatoes, bell peppers, artichokes, lemon basil, tangerine sage, blood orange olive oil, and pomegranate balsamic. Food, to me, is storytelling through flavor.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

My inspiration comes from gardeners, farmers, home cooks, and the people who cook with heart instead of ego. I grew up believing food is connection—it brings people to the table, starts conversations, and creates community. I’m inspired by seasonal cooking, fresh herbs, local produce, and the idea that a simple meal made thoughtfully can mean more than something extravagant.

What would you do with the $25,000?

First, I’d pay off debt and give my two littles a real vacation filled with memories instead of stress. After that, I’d invest in myself—continuing culinary education, expanding my skills, and helping build my nonprofit, The Hungry Local 801, which focuses on community, food access, urban agriculture, and reconnecting people through food. To me, food isn’t just nourishment—it’s one of the fastest ways to rebuild connection and care within a community.
