Who is your culinary inspiration?My mom was my culinary inspiration. She taught me how to cook at 10 years old when she fell and broke her ankle. She would sit in the kitchen and tell me what to do because she couldn’t stand. My first meal was steak with mashed potatoes and string beans. She was an extraordinary cook and loved hospitality and entertaining. I helped her fulfill her lifelong dream of opening her restaurant six months before she passed from cervical cancer in 2008.
What would you do with the $25,000?I want to expand my food ministry. I have quietly provided over 1,000 free meals to those in need in NC & FL w/out donations since 2020. I own Heart and Soul Catering & Events in Durham, NC. I started my catering & event planning business in 2018 in Miramar, FL, and recently moved back home to NC.
