Receive Text UpdatesSoup Joumou is my true signature dish. It’s more than a dish — it’s Haiti’s history in a bowl. A rich, savory pumpkin soup loaded with beef, pasta, potatoes, carrots, and island spices, simmered slowly until everything comes together in deep, comforting flavor. Chaka (chayote stew) is also close to my heart — lighter, earthy, and beautiful in its simplicity — but Soup Joumou carries the legacy, the celebration, and the soul of Haitian culture.
Who is your culinary inspiration? My culinary inspiration is rooted in traditional Haitian cuisine and the knowledge passed down through generations of home cooks. Their ability to transform simple, local ingredients into flavorful, meaningful dishes has shaped my approach as a chef. I am also influenced by Haiti’s street food culture, where bold seasoning, creativity, and resourcefulness define authentic cooking.Professionally, I admire chefs who honor cultural heritage while elevating it through refined technique .
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were to receive $25,000, I would use it to take the first step toward opening a Caribbean fusion restaurant and launching a signature spice line.
