Receive Text UpdatesI married into a Chinese Hawaiian household and I have adopted so many recipes and dishes from my in laws and the elders of the family so I'd have to go with Pork Char Siu, white rice, bok choy and pickled julienne vegetables.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My mom is a huge contributor to why I'm a chef and why I love providing home cooked meals to people. My professional inspiration comes from the early days watching Emeril Lagasse, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey on their TV shows. While I attended culinary school I was exposed to the "how" food is manufactured and what really goes on in the back of house. I hope that during my career I can make a difference and effect change in our nations practices for food waste and sustainably.
What would you do with the $25,000?The first thing I would like to do with the 25k is pay for my son and daughters medical bills. I'd like to make sure my family is financially stable and those financial burdens come first. My son had surgery on his neck to remove and Thyroglossal Cyst and my daughter has Congenital Hypothyroidism which is a life long ailment that she will always need supplements for. After that I'd like to reinvest in some new catering equipment or a trailer grill for life fire cooking events. A new tattoo??
