What is your signature dish?

My signature dish is my famous lima beans. I cook them with a professional touch, slow-seasoned and full of homemade Southern flavor. It’s the dish people always ask me to make again. Which is why it is constantly on the menu.

Who is your culinary inspiration?

My culinary inspiration is my mother, Ruby Bellinger. She taught me how to cook with love, patience, and soul. Watching her create meals that brought people together inspired my passion for cooking and the way I serve others through food today.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in growing Workmen’s Cafe on James Island by upgrading kitchen equipment, improving the dining experience, increasing marketing and community outreach, and expanding menu offerings. I’d also use part of the funds to strengthen daily operations and create opportunities to serve more customers while building a strong, welcoming neighborhood cafe.
