Who is your culinary inspiration?I draw inspiration from everyone that's ever taught me anything about food. From Jacques Pepin, who taught me a million techniques through the silver screen. To Jose Soto, the fastest Dominican oyster shucker I've ever seen, who taught me how to cook perfect rice in any vessel. Everyone and everything holds the potential for inspiration. I've recently been inspired by darkness and the things that thrive in it.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money as a seed fund to start a catering business with my girls Cynthia and Roselys. We've landed on Mixed Roots NYC for the name. Also a trip to Asia would have to be in order.
