I still remember the smell of her chocolate babka baking on Fridays and the slow-cooked kubaneh she’d leave in the oven overnight for Saturday mornings. Those dishes taught me that food is more than flavor, it’s memory, comfort, culture, and love. Today, my cooking blends those Middle Eastern and Mediterranean roots with warmth, humor, and modern comfort food that brings people together.
Who is your culinary inspiration?My greatest culinary inspiration is my mother. She cooked and baked almost entirely from memory, feeding family and friends with effortless love and instinct. You could show up unexpectedly with extra people, and somehow there was always enough food on the table for everyone. Watching her turn food into comfort, generosity, and connection shaped the way I cook today.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would invest it into growing my culinary brand, where I create funny, approachable cooking content that helps people feel more confident in the kitchen. I want to expand production, create better educational content, host live cooking experiences, and continue building a community around comfort food, connection, and joy. Food changed my life during a difficult transition, and I want to create that same feeling for other people.
