Who is your culinary inspiration?My culinary inspiration is Marcus Samuelsson. Growing up, I was told several times that I would never make it in the culinary world or become a manager in the industry. Seeing Marcus Samuelsson succeed showed me that with hard work, patience, dedication, and confidence anything is possible. As a black chef, he inspires me to break barriers and never let other people’s doubts define my future. His journey motivated me to keep pushing forward, and through perseverance I became a proud manage
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won the $25,000 I would put half in savings and use the other half to invest into small mom-and-pop restaurants. Having worked in independently owned restaurants I know firsthand how hard those chefs work, often without recognition large restaurants brands receive. I want to support and uplift small businesses that pour their hearts and soul into their food and communities. To me I feel they are the backbone to the culinary world and need recognition for the dedication they bring every day.
