Who or what inspires you to cook?

I was initially inspired by my mother who loved providing home made meals. She also owned a Soul Food restaurant in times when opportunities for minorities weren’t easy to come by. I worked side by side with her as a tween. As I became an adult I realized I had inherited that same passion for homemade cooking! The Food Network has become my educator.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Mustard and turnip greens with smoked turkey with yams and baked chicken or smothered pork chops!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would start a catering business. I would also start an organization to assist the underserved population that are faced with food insecurity and unstable housing conditions in Chicago!
