Who or what inspires you to cook?

Sharing food with my favorite people is what insprires me. I have a great respect for mother earth and the bounty she provides for us to transform into nourishment for our bodies. The farmers who grow our food are a huge inspiration to me as well. They dedicate their lives to feeding the world!

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Pizza! At 16, I worked in a convenience store with a pizza kitchen and would often learn from the cooks there who loved to feed me! I love to make sourdough pizza today! Having spent half of my life in Maine and half in Nova Scotia, Canada seafood is a very close second to pizza! Lobster, scallops, mackerel, halibut, mussels! I've learned to cook seafood from various chefs in Halifax, NS in professional kitchens.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The prize money would help my wife and I to start building our life long dream, seaside cottage in our home of Nova Scotia
