Who or what inspires you to cook?

My family has always been my driving force. When I began cooking as a child it gave me time with my parents when they weren’t working on the road. And a way to show my love to my family. Using our farmed goods, or when I needed to macgyver a meal for my siblings with bare cabinets; cooking became a fun puzzle of what I could create. And now I get to share it with my children and that makes it even more beautiful to me.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

I would have to say my cheesecakes. If you’re asking about savory dishes; I really like things with fresh produce, lots of herbs and I like to surprise people with things they have never had or think they won’t like. My Rosemary and Garlic Seared Lamb Chops.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This is a tough one. My kids have been my focus the past 7 years and having my son at 23 weeks and 6 days really put things in perspective. He spent the first year of his life in the NICU and is fighting the good fight at 5 to be verbal. His sister 7 has been such a great Big sister and amazing daughter along the way. Now is the time I stand up and show them what you can achieve if you believe it. I’m going to put the money into something they can have when I am gone. A place to call home
