Receive Text UpdatesWe learned how to cook by our mothers, cookbooks and food network chefs. The Food Network was the only channel we watched for 10 years! The local North Fork land and sea offerings around us inspire us to cook and appreciate the food available to us. We live in an agriculturally rich area on Long Island and cook based on seasonality.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?"Little Ram Bang Bang Broiled Oysters" We make our signature spicy Laotian-style sauce using Thai bird-eye chilies, fish sauce, garlic, lime juice, and cilantro. We shuck our Little Ram Oysters, top them with this spicy sauce and chopped peanuts and broil them until they are hot and bubbly. We finish them with chopped cilantro and pair them with a local North Fork wine bringing terrior and merroir together!
What would you do with the $25,000?We would use $25K to buy farm gear to help grow our oyster farm. We have 20 underwater acres to farm in Gardiners Bay and have the ability to grow millions of oysters. Cages and gear for our farm is very expensive so this money would help us tremendously to grow our small family-owned farm. Oysters benefit the environment filtering 50 gallons of water a day, improving water quality. More oysters in the water means more sustainable food and cleaner waters!
