Receive Text UpdatesMy family and friends inspire me to cook. The smile on their faces and the sounds they make when eating my food is what motivates me and gives me pleasure. Cooking amazing food has also been a tradition in my family, and I hope to carry on my family’s legacy!
What's your all time favorite dish to make?Without doubt, my favorite and signature dish is Shrimp Ceviche. My family and friends would agree, as they always ask, at all our family get togethers, “Are you making ceviche?” I always say, “you have to come and find out.” I love the reaction people have the first time they taste it! My brother and I started making it when I was in high school after many trips to Mexico eating our weight in ceviche and tacos for $20!
What would you do with the $25,000?I want to continue my family’s Tex-Mex legacy, rooted in childhood memories working at our restaurant, Tacos N More, which started as a Taco Stand! My dream is to run a South Florida food truck—Sy’s Taste of Texas—serving special family recipes in honor of my parents, while helping the homeless and partnering with nonprofits.
