Who or what inspires you to cook?

My love for family, sharing our table and conversations with a nice meal that everyone enjoys and takes pleasure sharing. It is especially rewarding when it brings back memories of time passed that we cherished and enjoyed. There is nothing that speaks to my heart louder than the simplicity of dinner around the table with family and friends. I have such fond memories of makign family recipes with my grandmother, mother, and my father (he loved to eat!) or with my children and friends.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

I don't really have a favorite dish--it is more about the occasion, christmas, easter, thanksgiving whether we are making our traditional pasteles, roasting a pig, accompanied with coquito or chicken and dumplings with a big fat turkey or roasted chicken with mash potatoes and greens. Its the event and occasion that brings around the perfect meal.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I think I would really renovate my kitchen with all new appliances and have a big party for the whole family. I might even go to tuscany and take cooking classes with my family. The options are limitless!
