My family is my inspiration. My kids are my biggest cheerleaders and everyone from my great grandparents, to my grandparents, to my parents all had a hand in first teaching me to cook. I owe all of my success to them for their knowledge and their continuous support of me. I am also inspired by Aarón Sánchez and Emeril Lagasse. I grew up watching Emeril Lagasse and recreating his recipes at home. And I love Aarón Sánchez’s passion for cooking and giving back.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?Tamales. They are a family tradition and something I hold close to my heart. I use my great grandparent’s recipe and my tamales have been a huge opportunity for me to connect to others through food.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would open a food truck or restaurant. This money would significantly help with the start up costs. My dream is to open a business that I can pass down to my kids someday.
