Who or what inspires you to cook?

My parents. We owned a restaurant when I was a child. I learned to cook from them. My mother was the cook at a Headstart Program. I’m from Charleston, SC. Gullah Geechie Corridor. Our foods are unique and I enjoy the culture and tradition that comes from cooking.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Okra Soup-its a speciality in Charleston. I recently taught my youngest daughter to make this dish so we can continue our traditions.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Pay some bills, save, tithe and take my husband on a well deserved vacation.
