Who or what inspires you to cook?

My Grandfather. My love for cooking, born from the heart of tradition. A true Veteran, my hero. Back from war torn Europe he manifested a wonderful garden - bursting with tomatoes, basil, garlic, and onions all in his tiny yard. Wednesday, a mere day of the week for most was a day of ritual for my family. Dinner wasn't merely feeding our bodies, it fed our being. Tradition matters. Bridges between generations matter. Backyard gardens, the joy of cooking reclaims memories in every meal.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Lasagna. It is more than just a dish to me, it tells a story. Representing layers of tradition, generations, family and love, where every layer is unique, the flavors, textures and richness all coming together to form perfection. Though life and food are not always perfect, when you look at the layers there is always something delicious. Succulent. Worth savoring.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would help those in my community whom are still struggling to recover from back to back hurricanes in Florida's Gulf Coast.
