Receive Text UpdatesMy love of being hospitable to people inspires my cooking. The acts of service is a love language for me. When you can allow that gift to bring a memorable experience to people, well that truly is gratifying and rewarding. Whether it’s my own kids, friends, guests in my home or at my work place; practicing the art of hospitality is always an inspiration. Food truly connects us across all ages and all cultures.
What's your all time favorite dish to make? What a tough question. The best dishes are always the simple and honest ones. If I base it on something that I made I’m really happy with that speaks to where I am from it’s ‘walleye based on a chowder.’ It’s a soup that takes some care to make. It’s topped with a piece of fried walleye right before it’s served so it doesn’t get soggy. It sounds simple and perhaps one dimensional, but there’s a lot of love and thought that went into it.
What would you do with the $25,000?The first part of the use of these funds would be to start up a private chef opportunity for myself I’ve been wanting to pursue! The ability to go in to peoples homes and make a wonderful experience for them and their guests and to practice hospitality on a small scale that I have found to be so meaningful. The remainder would help my wonderful, supportive partner (and our two beautiful children) by clearing out some of our student loan debt.
