My grandmothers and mother are my inspiration behind cooking the dishes of my childhood and upbringing in Charleston, South Carolina. Food inspired by the flavors and history of Gullah Cuisine. My paternal grandmother allowed me to cook for the first time at 6yrs old and I have never left the kitchen.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?My all-time favorite dish to make is a savory and buttery spin on classic blue crab cakes with shrimp. Paired with my very own Something Tasty Sauce.
What would you do with the $25,000?if I won the $25,000, I would open a food truck. My dream is to employ men and women with developmental disabilities, mental health disabilities, and individuals transitioning back into society. I would also like to employ high school and college students interested in pursuing a culinary arts career.
